A compact control panel for OBS browser docks

The control panel now has a compact layout for an OBS custom browser dock, so you can run the scoreboard from inside OBS next to your preview. Choose Copy OBS dock URL from the new Copy URL menu and add it under Docks → Custom Browser Docks. In the dock the overlay style is a dropdown, the live preview starts collapsed, and setup-only cards are left out. It works on every plan, free included. The Copy URL menu also holds the OBS/vMix overlay link and the YoloBox link that used to be separate buttons.

Down & distance and ball on from the push API

A scoreboard or other device can now set down & distance on an American football board through the push API, the same way it already drives the game clock: { "downDistance": { "down": 3, "distance": 7 } }, or goalToGo for 1st & Goal. A ballOn section sets the spot, and if you send only the yard line the side you set in the control page is kept. Flag football boards take the down. A value out of range is refused rather than quietly corrected, so a device bug cannot put the wrong down on air.

    Final period for american football

American football boards now have a Final button after OT, so the scorebug can read Final once the game is over. At Final the scorebug drops the game clock and down & distance, and brings them back if you step back to a live period.

  • Improved

Pick a style after you can see it

Creating a scoreboard now asks only for a name and a sport. The board starts on the first style for that sport, and you switch styles on the control page, where the live preview shows each one.

  • Fixed

Touchdown animation no longer replays after a style change

A touchdown scored while a football board showed the Broadcast 2018 style played a second time, as the standard touchdown animation, the next time the board switched to another style. It now plays once, in the style that was on screen.

College scorebug for American and flag football

A new football scorebug: two team-color panels meeting at the scores, a tilted logo at each end, and a dark bar underneath with the quarter, game clock and down & distance. Each team can show a poll ranking (#7) and a season record (5-0), both set under Team Setup when the style is picked. Possession is a yellow underline below the score, and a flag or timeout takes over the down & distance slot. Every score gets a "+6", "+3" or "+1" sticker over the team's score, and the number changes once it leaves. A touchdown first gets a full-width banner in the team's colors, with the logo and TOUCHDOWN in brush lettering.

Hockey penalty clocks, automatic power plays, and playoff overtime

Start a 2:00, 4:00 or 5:00 penalty from the hockey control panel and it counts down with the game clock, carrying over into the next period if it has to. The overlay works out the power play from who is in the box and shows it with the time left (BOS PP 1:42), names a 5-on-3 or a 4-on-4, and a power-play goal ends the minor on its own: a double minor drops to its second two minutes and a major is served in full. That works for a hockey_goal sent from a Stream Deck too. There is also an empty-net toggle, a per-game period and overtime length (15-minute youth periods, 20-minute playoff overtime), and 2OT and 3OT period buttons. The old manual Power Play button is gone.

Team logos on the handball scorebug

Logos uploaded for a handball board now show on air, on the outer edge of each team panel next to the team code. Before, the control panel accepted a logo but the scorebug never displayed it. Boards without logos look the same as before.

  • Improved

New names for eight scorebug styles

Bold, Heavy and Broadcast 2018 for football, Bold Soccer and Summer 2026 for soccer, and Broadcast 2018, International 2024 and Modern for basketball. Only the names changed. Every board keeps the style it had, and nothing looks different on air.

  • Improved

    Easier-to-read flag on the play

The FLAG indicator on the American and flag football scorebugs now uses dark text on the gold instead of white, which was hard to read on stream. On the Classic style the two scores also turn dark while the centre block is gold, and the FLAG tab now replaces the clock tab for the duration of the flag. Before, the clock tab covered it.

  • Improved

1st & Goal for American football

American football boards can now show goal-to-go. Press Goal next to the distance on the Play card and every scorebug style reads "1st & Goal" (or 2nd, 3rd, 4th) instead of a yardage. Stepping the distance, pressing 1st & 10, or calling a turnover switches it back off.

  • Improved

Black outline for Bold scorebug scores

The Bold style for American and flag football can now draw a black outline around both scores, so they hold up over bright or busy footage. Turn on Score outline under Setup in the control page once the Bold style is selected. It works with any backdrop: None, Light or Dark.

  • Improved

Optional backdrop for the Bold scorebug

The Bold style for American and flag football can now sit on a backdrop, so the scores stay readable over busy or bright footage. Pick None, Light or Dark under Setup in the control page once the Bold style is selected. Light uses a light grey bar with dark scores and clock, and Dark uses a translucent dark bar with the usual white text. None keeps the original look, with everything floating straight on the video.

Drive an American football scorebug from a Genius Sports ScoreLink

If your venue scoreboard has a Genius Sports ScoreLink (Sportzcast), you can connect it to an American football board from the control page on a paid plan. Enter your Sportzcast email, access token and bot number, pick which team is home, and press Start listening: the score, game clock, quarter, down and distance, timeouts and possession then follow the stadium scoreboard. The feed runs while the control page is open, and the stadium scoreboard wins while it does, so stop listening to take over by hand. Your access token is stored encrypted.

Cards, fouls, knockdowns and hockey and handball goals from a peripheral

The push API now takes hockey_goal and handball_goal as one-call scoring events, worth one point each. It also takes six per-team counters: yellow and red cards on soccer boards, team fouls on basketball boards, and knockdowns, warnings and point deductions on boxing boards. Each counter is a +1 or -1 against whatever the board already shows, so a button can add one on a press and take it back after a mistap without reading the board first, and a -1 at zero simply stays at zero.

Stream Deck plugin is on the Elgato Marketplace

The Stream Deck plugin passed Elgato’s review and installs straight from the Marketplace tab in the Stream Deck app now, instead of a manual file download. The setup guide also covers a suggested key layout for each sport with its own scoring action — American football, basketball and rugby today.

Set the period from a peripheral without starting the clock

The push API’s period command now takes { "period": { "set": 2 } } alongside the existing { "start": 2 }. Start puts the clock at that period’s starting value and runs it; set only changes which period the board reads, and never touches the clock, so a running clock keeps running at the same value. It is what a device that keeps its own clock wants, and it is how a mislabelled period gets fixed mid-play without rewinding a live one. Both resolve a plain period number to whatever your sport calls that period, and both still apply the sport’s own period-boundary rules.

    Stream Deck plugin

Run your scoreboard from a Stream Deck instead of a browser tab. Keys for scoring plays, the game clock, periods, timeouts, possession and the penalty flag, each captioned with the team name and its live value, so a scoring key shows the score and a timeout key shows how many are left. The clock key draws the running clock on itself and stays in step with the overlay. American football has a key per play (touchdown, field goal, extra point, two-point conversion, safety); rugby and basketball have their own; and score, clock and period keys work on every sport. Requires a paid plan, since it runs on the Peripheral Push API.

Start a new period from a peripheral, in one call

The push API now takes { "period": { "start": 2 } } — send a period number and the server works out what that period is called on your sport, puts the clock at its starting value and starts it. A countdown sport starts at the full period length, a soccer or rugby or handball board starts where the previous half ended (45:00, not 0:00), and anything that sport does on a period boundary comes along too: a basketball board applies its second-half timeout allotment, a bout goes active. Regulation periods only — 1-2 for soccer, rugby and handball, 1-3 for hockey, 1-4 for the footballs and basketball, 1-5 for tennis, and up to the scheduled round count for a bout.

Period buttons now set the clock the same way on every sport

Tapping a period button used to do something different on each sport: hockey and boxing reset the clock to the period length, soccer jumped to the start of the half, and american football, flag football and basketball left the clock exactly where it was. Now every sport does the same thing — moving forward to a new period puts the clock at that period’s starting value, and moving back to an earlier one only changes the label, so fixing a mislabelled period no longer risks rewinding a live clock. Entering halftime or full time freezes the clock on every sport that has them.

  • Fixed

Stopping the clock from a peripheral no longer rewinds it

Sending { "clock": { "running": false } } to the push API used to put the clock back to where the period started instead of stopping it where it was — so a peripheral that stopped the clock at 11:23 of a 15-minute quarter showed 15:00. It now stops at the time actually on the clock. Send currentTimeMs alongside it only if your device is the authority on the time.

Copy your scoreboard ID from the control panel

The Peripheral Push API card now shows the scoreboard ID with a copy button next to it, so wiring up a game clock or Raspberry Pi no longer means digging the ID out of the browser address bar. The push token below it is now labelled as such, rather than sitting unlabelled next to its buttons.

    YoloBox setup guide

YoloBox now has its own step-by-step guide, linked from the resolution picker: which canvas resolution to pick, how to resize the Web URL Overlay widget so the scorebug fills the frame, and what to do if your canvas is not one of the three presets. Previously this lived as a single entry in the OBS guide's troubleshooting list.

    Ultimate scorebug style for Boxing

A new MMA/UFC-inspired "Ultimate" style for Boxing: fighter plates with corner-colour bars, an optional ranking badge, a per-round progress tracker, and an uploadable event/association logo.

Soccer clock now stops for stoppage time on every style

The Classic and Bold soccer scorebugs kept counting straight through 45:00/90:00 instead of stopping for stoppage time. All three other soccer styles (Classic, Bold, and 94 Classic) now stop the main clock at the half's regulation duration and show a live "+m:ss" indicator alongside it, matching the Summer 2026 style.

  • Fixed

Solid overlay background on some hardware encoders

The scoreboard could render with a solid dark background instead of a transparent one on embeds that don’t fully honor page transparency (e.g. YoloBox’s Web URL Overlay). The overlay now forces a transparent background explicitly instead of relying on the renderer to composite it correctly.

  • New

    Boxing scoreboards

A new Boxing sport with a red-corner/blue-corner scorebug: round counter with a per-bout total-rounds setting, a round clock, and controls for knockdowns, warnings, and point deductions on both corners, plus weight class and bout title.

Switch which side the home team is on

Some broadcast conventions put the home team on the left, others on the right. A new swap button on the team setup card flips which side each team — name, colours, logo and all — appears on, on both the control panel and the live overlay. The "Home"/"Away" labels follow wherever the swap put them.

  • Fixed

Fixed a cropped scorebug on YoloBox

YoloBox's own "Web URL Overlay" feature has a known bug that crops a web overlay regardless of its content. The control panel now has a "Copy YoloBox URL" button (scoreboards/yolobox?token=…) that wraps the overlay in a fixed-size iframe — YoloLiv's own documented workaround for the bug — so YoloBox users no longer need to self-host anything.

Peripherals can now push a scoring event, not just a raw score

PATCH /api/v1/scoreboards/{id}/push accepts a new event section — { team, type: 'touchdown' | 'goal' } — for a device that just wants to report a scoring play. The server adds the points (touchdown +6, goal +1) and triggers the on-air scoring animation, so a physical button press is one API call with no local score tracking required.

    API documentation is up

The Peripheral Push API now has a proper reference at /docs/api — every field, example and error it can return, with the raw OpenAPI document at /api/v1/openapi.json for Postman, Insomnia and client codegen. The API itself is still a work in progress and will grow: expect new endpoints and fields, and check the reference for what is live today.
